During World War II, the US Army moved into a wing of the Ford Motor plant and added several warehouses as a Quartermaster Depot, serving troops throughout North and South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia. During the Cold War, the plant was rehabilitated to build missiles under the name Charlotte Army Missile Plant – CAMP for short – giving roots to the name used today. 

Fast forward to 2016, the entire complex was purchased by ATCO Properties with a vision to redevelop the area as mixed us including office, retail, and residential space.
